KILLER JOE by TRACY LETTS, July 20–August 4, 2007

TARA DENTON (Sharla Smith) is pleased to make her debut at PURE. Local credits include College of Charleston's Shakespeare Project (Titus Andronicus, Antigone, Richard III, and Julius Caesar), Balm in Gilead, and The House of Yes. Earlier this year, Tara co-produced CSK, a live radio show with Safety First! Production Company. Tara remains an Associate Artist with Poor Players Theatre Company in San Diego. San Diego credits include Taming of the Shrew, Hamlet, Twelfth Night, Coriolanus, and The Vagina Monologues.


COURTNEY FENWICK (Dottie Smith) recently graduated from the College of Charleston, where she recieved her B.A. in Theatre. She was previously seen in the CofC productions of The Children's Hour, Blood Wedding, and Medea, as well as several student-produced pieces. Her work with PURE includes A Perfect Ten and A Number.


DAVID MANDEL (Killer Joe Cooper), has acted with PURE in Thom Pain (based on nothing), This Is How It Goes, A Number, American Buffalo, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, True West, and Jesus Hopped the "A" Train, among others. He worked three seasons with The New Jersey Shakespeare Festival (Merry Wives of Windsor, Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth), a year in residence at George Street Playhouse, and nine years in Los Angeles at venues including The MET Theatre, HBO Workspace, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, LATC, and the Egyptian Arena Theatre. David is PURE’s Associate Artistic Director.


RYAN “MILKSHAKES” MITCHELL (Chris Smith) is a recent graduate of the College of Charleston, where he directed a production of Tracy Letts’ Bug for CofC Center Stage. Other previous acting credits include King Lear, The Tempest, Sylvia, Hotel Paradiso, and Oklahoma.


DAVID ROACH (Ansel Smith) has been a member of Theatre 99 since its inception in 2000. In addition to lifting heavy things, David has appeared in numerous productions at Theatre 99, including Fuddy Meers, Lives of the Saints, and Apartment 3A. David has performed as part of TheHaveNots! Touring Company and was most recently featured in Improv Smackdown! as part of the 2007 Piccolo Fringe Festival. He is 6 foot, 2 inches tall.


R.W. SMITH (Director) is PURE’s new Company Manager. For PURE’s third season he directed A Number, which was remounted to critical acclaim during Piccolo Spoleto 2006. His acting credits at PURE include True West, Grace, The Pillowman, American Buffalo, and Beauty Queen of Leenane. His regional acting credits include Death of a Salesman, Polaroid Stories, and The Complete History of Charleston for Morons. He can be seen in Army Wives (Lifetime Television) as Eddie and will be acting in PURE's first show of the fifth season, Shining City.

Amber M. O'Neil (Stage Manager) is thrilled to be working with PURE Theatre again. Past productions with PURE include A Perfect Ten, American Buffalo, Spinning Into Butter, and A Number.
