PURE productions include Outside Mullingar, Other Desert Cities, Good People, Beauty Queen of Leenane, Colder Than Here, and Rabbit Hole. Cynthia’s long, successful career in New York (commercials, soap opera, voice-overs) allowed her to work on new theatre pieces at New York Theatre Workshop, Abingdon Theater Company, and 79th Street Theater Lab, along with continuing her training with Sanford Meisner teachers Robert Patterson and Tim Phillips. After moving to Portland, Maine with her husband, Walt, in the mid-1980s, they became founding members of Mad Horse Theatre Company, which continues today, in its 29th season. A few highlights at MHTC were Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and A View From the Bridge. She also has taught Meisner technique master classes and recently worked with Portland’s Good Theatre’s production of August: Osage County. She and her husband divide their time between Charleston and Maine. Cynthia has been a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association since 1974.
